Women Who Volunteer Make Great Employees Says New Study

Thursday May 18, 2006
A new study for WOMENS WAY of Philadelphia finds that corporations who want to develop their women employees should encourage and facilitate volunteer opportunities.

The study was made possible through a grant from The Comcast Foundation and explores the correlation between nonprofit activities and business success. Both nonprofits and corporations can benefit from the study's key findings and recommendations.

Nonprofits can use these findings to develop appropriate volunteer opportunities for women in business and then promote those to corporations.

Corporations can enhance their own professional development opportunities by encouraging their women employees to volunteer in the community.

I agree but most of us need financial help now and volunteering doesn’t help the immediate need.

I run my own organization but you might as well consider it volunteer because I don’t have time to write grants for my programs because I am busy running the programs with no income so I have to work a parttime job to survive.
