More Americans Volunteer Says New Study
The study finds that commitment to volunteering increased by nearly 12 percent from 2002 to 2005. Two groups that increased their volunteer service dramatically were people age 55 to 64, and young people age 16 to 24.
On a more negative note, another study by Deloitte Touche and the Points of Light Foundation found that charities are not working with companies to provide volunteers. In addition, the charities are not good at matching volunteer opportunities with the skills of their volunteers...such a waste!
