9/11 Continues to Move Us After 5 Years

Here are some examples of how 9/11 is being commemorated and ways you can participate or donate:
  • Four New York-based charities that work to honor the memory of those lost in the 9/11 attacks or provide support to their families will receive a total of $2.6 million from the release of the film World Trade Center.

  • The Foundation Center has released its capstone publication on September 11 giving. More than $1.1 billion has been given by foundations and corporations and Giving in the Aftermath of September 11: Final Update on the Foundation and Corporate Response is an overview of this outpouring of help. The report can be downloaded or requested free of charge at the Foundation Center's website.

  • Grassroots group, One Day's Pay, is encouraging personal expressions of compassion during the week long observance of the 9/11 anniversary in an effort to establish the anniversary day as one of voluntary service and charity. You can find information about ways to participate at the organization's website, MyGoodDeed.org.

  • You can continue to donate to worthy causes associated with 9/11. Here are some suggested organizations:
