Donating Really Does Feel Good!
The Economist reported on a study from the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Basically, researchers set up an experiment where subjects were able to anonymously donate money to a charity or to choose not to. The brains of the subjects were examined through functional magnetic resonance imaging to see what parts were activated by certain decisions.
When subjects donated, the part of their brains that was activated was its reward center, or the mesolimbic pathway. This part of the brain doles out the dopamine responsible for the euphoria usually associated with sex, money, food and drugs.
In addition, donating engaged the part of the brain that has to do with bonding behavior between mother and child, and in romantic love. A hormone, oxytocin, was released that increases trust and cooperation.
Ummm...now, how can we write a donor solicitation that promises actual physiological well-being just as good as sex and romance?

If you have been around for any time, this is notr a surprise. Much like we can now prove clinically that laughter is therapeutic. Giving does effect the brain.
Yes, you’re right but it is still nice to see it validated again.
Evryone says it feel great to give, is making them donate the hard part.
Last 25 years I have been struggling single handedly to help people suffering from gangrene, eczema, psoriasis and all skin infections. Capable of saving patients from amputation with natural/herbal formula.
It really feels good when you give something to others…..your knowledge, skill, help.
I tried to raise funds to help those in need, could not raise a single cent. I always wonder, how people raise millions in donations.
Where are those generous donators who feel good by giving?
I would be glad to meet them, not for money, but to Salute them.
