What You Need to Know Before You Agree to Serve on a Nonprofit Board

Serving on a nonprofit board can be a wonderful experience. You will enjoy knowing other community leaders, feel good about serving a good cause, and it can even help your career.

But serving on a nonprofit board is also a serious undertaking and you should do your homework about the organization before you say yes. We've identified a number of questions you will want to ask about the nonprofit before you become a board member.
