To Be Like a Business, or Not to Be?

Whether nonprofits should be more business-like is something of a hot topic these days.

Some think that doing so will dilute the mission of a nonprofit; while others believe that foundations and donors will be drawn to a business-like organization.

Our guest author, Larry Checco, is in the latter camp and makes his case in his article, Is Your Nonprofit Business-Like?.

Hi I am from south africa, and i was doing some search on the net, I have launched a feeding scheme, called Willas fundraising Project in the Retyreat area in cape town.
I am working with children between the ages of five and twelve years of age , I opened this organisation in May 2007, and have been broadcast on our local radio station last yaer November 2007, I am very pleased to see that there are people like you guys trying to make a difference in this world, I am struggling a bit for I have two kids of my own and also being a single parent, but have apassion for other children, I don’t have any office equipment but I am working from loacl libaries to get some work done I honestly want to help these kids , December last year I have arranged a Christmas Party for 100 children in our community, If it is not much trouble can I please hear from you
