Cool Award for Mature Volunteers Offered by AARP
It is no secret that older Americans volunteer...a lot. AARP, the advocacy organization for Americans 50 and older, is looking for nominations for its Andrus Award for Community Service.
Nominees must be current AARP volunteers or AARP members and can be nominated by individuals or organizations. Nominees must have, in words of AARP, "demonstrated the power to make it better in their communities in ways that are consistent with AARP's mission, vision and commitment to volunteer service, and that inspire others to volunteer....these winners have a desire to bring ideas and dreams to life. Their work and achievements have positive impact on the lives of many..."
To make a nomination, and to read about former winners of the AARP award, see the AARP website.
