I loved the post from Don Akchin at the Accidental Marketer recently, titled "You Don't Have To Be Young To Love the Internet."
Don, having read the latest Pew Internet and American Life Project report, says, "Although the Millennial Generation (ages 18 to 32) and their younger sibs dominate the world of online videos, blogs and social networking, the older generations are more likely to buy something online or use online banking. Email use is high across all generations."
Being in the bifocal set myself, and an avid blogger and Internet user, I'm tickled that the older generation is not just staring at the TV set or bowling. Older people today are more active and up on things than at any time in the past. Plus they often have money to donate and time to volunteer.
In your rush to accommodate younger people, don't forget your older supporters...in fact, cherish them. They are likely to stick with you and even leave you in their wills.
