Tom's of Maine has a great new program, "50 States for Good." The company is directing $100,000 ($20,000 each) to five nonprofit projects that focus on positive change. The company is looking for eligible projects from all 50 states.
Applications for participation are available from June 1 through August 30 to all qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations at www.50statesforgood.com. Only nonprofits can apply, but individuals are encouraged to let their favorite nonprofits know about this opportunity and to encourage them to apply. A review panel will narrow the applications to 50 finalists.
In September and October, the public will vote on the 50 best projects, and the five projects that receive the most votes will be announced in November.
Consumers may not have much money to actually donate these days, but they can help publicize and vote for projects to receive money from Tom's of Maine. Make sure your state is represented!
