Thanks for putting together this list, Joanne. I’m also happy to see something many have considered “old fashioned” at the top of the list: articles, research, fact sheets, brochures, policy briefs – documents. But I’d like to add that this type of content can actually work very well with the ways that websites and information demand have evolved over the past years.
We at IssueLab are strong proponents of making research usable in the online world that overloads us with information and leaves us with little time and space (and sometimes only 140 characters!) to convey a message. We help nonprofits create digital libraries that work with the rest of the web and actively promote this research to a wider set of constituents.
It’s important to have a solid “home base” website where you can direct traffic and land visitors for campaigns and new releases, but it’s also vital to think about different ways to push information through other channels and a broader audience.
