In the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) anonymous donors can be some of your best supporters. Since it’s an annual campaign all the statistics are yearly, but the reality is that many CFC donors support their favorite charities for years. The “anonymous donor” option is very popular with the Federal donor, so it’s important to include mechanisms that thank these men and women as well as those who release their names.
In terms of actual giving, if the CFC was a foundation, it would be the 10th largest foundation in the US. CFC monies are unrestricted, reliable and predictable and in what’s somewhat of a surprise for a government program, there’s less red tape than almost any non-profit grant.
