Volunteers
The always interesting website, Springwise, has featured new approaches in recruiting and using volunteers. The Extraordinaries, which helps volunteers perform work through their smart phones, was featured in June, and Calista, which matches volunteers to organizations' needs through a mobile app, was showcased last fall. Springwise has thousands of "spotters" who look for new business and entrepreneurial ideas. In the process, it keeps up with consumer trends, many of which are relevant to nonprofits.
