Thank you, Joanne, for an interesting post. With all the hype of marketing web technologies and strategies, it seems that much of traditional marketing methods have gone by the wayside. A hand signed Thank You letter sent by (snail) mail is a nice personal way of thanking a donor. It is also another opportunity to brand your name and to build more solid, loyal donor relationships.

Thanks for your comment, Diana. I do think that snail mail still matters to most of us. I’m betting that when the post office reduces delivery from 6 days a week, and even closes some post office, mail will be even more treasured. Our email boxes are so overloaded these days and sometimes we don’t even get the emailed thank yous. Also, older donors appreciate mail in a way that perhaps younger ones do not.
