Emily Chan is a California nonprofit attorney and contributor to the Nonprofit Law Blog. She is a graduate from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. As a legal assistant at the Law Office of Gene Takagi, Gene and Emily co-authored articles published in the ABA Business Law Today ("Alternatives to Forming a Charitable Nonprofit: A Start-Up May Not Be in Your Client's Best Interests," July/August 2010) and Blue Avocado ("Can Nonprofit Boards Vote By Email?," Oct. 23, 2009).
