The One Very Best Thing About Your Cause

I get to raise awareness of early-onset Parkinson's as well as show people that if you believe in a cause, you will fight to the end for it, even in a wheelchair. I believe I was born to end this. My mother and two of her brothers died from end stage Parkinson's.

Why My Cause Is So Important

Parkinson's disease is not one of the "popular" causes that people give to. It is also perceived as a disease of older people, even though more and more patients under 50 are being diagnosed. People need to know this.

How I Got Involved With My Cause

My mother was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, and last year died of end stage Parkinson's. I want to be the last one in my family to have it, and for that we need the cure. Two of my uncles also died from it. Ao far i am the only 2nd generation person in the family to have it.

People like Miriam are an inspiration for all of us to fight for our causes.
