Name of Your Cause
CIRCUS CRUELTY
I created my cause Circus Cruelty on Facebook to help spread awareness about the inhumane treatment of elephants in circuses worldwide. By committing myself to this cause I have helped educate over 6,100 members worldwide about the horrible conditions these elephants have to exist in, the inhumane training with bull hooks, premature deaths of circus elephants, and news about the latest lawsuits associated with Ringling Brothers Circus and the wrongful renewal of their license granted to them in 2010 even though there were over 700 pages of documented abuse submitted in their recent lawsuit.
The One Very Best Thing About Your Cause
Awareness is powerful! By being the administrator of this cause, I have met many people and become friends with them based on our common interest in animal rights and animal abuse. Because of my cause Circus Cruelty I was invited to join a local protest against a circus that performed in my city. We were called names during those four days of protesting and the only people calling us names were the adults.
It was the children and young teens who wanted to see our pictures and wanted to talk with us about what really goes on in circuses and their abusive treatment of the animals. The children are our future and they are naturally compassionate and want to learn. My cause gave me an avenue to reach out to these young people.

Why My Cause Is So Important
My cause should be the Cause of the Week because it is still small. Circus Cruelty needs all the help it can get to help get the word out and help spread awareness about the horrific and inhumane treatment of not only elephants in circuses, but for all the animals in circuses.
How I Got Involved With My Cause
I have always had a connection with elephants and I have always been against animal abuse. Creating my cause Circus Cruelty gave me the tools to tell others about circuses and their treatment of animals. My cause is an educational tool that allows me to have a voice that can be heard worldwide.
