Meals-on-Wheels for Pets Nassau . Working closely with our local Council on Aging Office and Meals-on-Wheels organization, we provide pet food and limited health care for the companion animals of those elderly and disadvantaged citizens in our county who receive home-delivered meals. Working with other local animal organizations, Cats' Angels and R.A.I.N., we are able to provide funding for spay/neuter services rendered through Jacksonville's No More Homeless Pets program. We also are working to be able to provide medications and annual visits to local veterinarians.
The One Very Best Thing About Your Cause
Knowing that because these animals have been altered and are receiving healthy, nutritious food, they will be better friends and companions for their owners. Many of our clients live alone with only their pets to keep them company. They depend upon these animals for their mental and emotional well-being. Relieving these clients of the financial burden of pet ownership supports a happier, healthier environment for both the owner and their pet.

Why My Cause Is So Important
Neither of these groups, the elderly nor the animals, have a voice. Someone needs to stand up for them. Our program helps those who are already struggling to make their lives and their pets' lives, a little better.
How I Got Involved With My Cause
In doing research on animals and spay/neuter programs, I came across the MOWAA WALOP initiative - We All Love Our Pets. That was the starting point for the program which I created and now run.
