Name of Your Cause

Audubon International

Community Engagement Planning and Action Initiative

We're working with citizens, business leaders and community leaders to help lead to more sustainable policies, practices, and planning in communities across the country. Through free web resources, webinars, in-person summits, and a set of educational programs, community leaders are being provided with tools and education to help make a difference.

The One Very Best Thing About Your Cause

This is the only education-based effort in the country focused on helping entire towns, neighborhoods, cities, and counties implement more sustainable planning and practices, instead of merely talk about them.

Why My Cause Is So Important

Finding a way to provide a vital local economy and high quality of life, not at the expense of our natural environment, is perhaps the most critical issue facing us. It all starts with people at the local level making change happen. The Audubon International Community Initiative is leading change.

How I Got Involved With My Cause

As the Executive Director of Audubon International, I have been responsible for launching this effort. Rather than a "save the whales" campaign, this is an effort to save our communities--their natural, cultural, and economic heritage.

Joanne Fritz, Nonprofit Charitable Orgs Guide, says:

What a great idea! Helping communities plan upfront for sustainability is wonderful for both nature and people.
